We are overjoyed to share that we are expecting a baby, a beautiful and unexpected gift that has filled our hearts with hope. After years of dreaming of growing our family, this pregnancy feels like a miracle.

Our joy, however, is clouded by sudden and overwhelming financial fear. Just days before learning this wonderful news, we made a change to a more affordable healthcare option. Now, we are facing the devastating reality that this new plan will not cover any of our pregnancy or delivery costs because we hadn’t been members long enough. As independent workers, returning to traditional health insurance is impossible—the premiums alone would be nearly double our monthly mortgage payment.

We want this child more than anything, but the staggering cost of prenatal care and delivery feels insurmountable. We are facing this journey with so much love but also with deep anxiety, unsure how we will afford the medical care our baby needs to arrive safely into the world.
